The IR Video School (Instrumentation of Research for the analysis of educational practices Video-data) is being organised by the Structure Fédérative de Recherche (SFR – Federative Research Structure), ViSA and the ICAR (CNRS, Université Lumière Lyon 2, Lyon ENS) and CREAD laboratories (Rennes 2 University, IUFM - Université de Bretagne Occidentale). It is supported by the CNRS, the ASLAN labex and the Université de Bretagne Occidentale (UBO).
The School targets PhD, post-doc students and researchers, in particular those in charge of research training in the field of educative situations, and aims to train them in the efficient and scientifically considered use of existing methodology and tools for creating, organising and analysing video corpora.
The School is a unique and very special opportunity for training and exchanging ideas (5 days in a Convention Centre) on the subject of research instrumentation issues. It is organised around 4 themes.
1) Interconnections of theoretical and methodological approaches involving video and the specificity of the research terrain (classroom, work placement, museum visit situations, etc.).
2) Epistemological discussion of the characteristics of filmed data in relation to other types of data and of the founding principles of analysis software tools.
3) Gathering and organisation of data: the choice and implementation of recording equipment in context, organisation and preparation of corpora (including video recordings but often also other types of data), data processing for analysis.
4) Collaborative and cross-referenced analyses by researchers: data sharing, collaborative and cross-referenced analyses of the same video corpora.
Working languages will be French and English. The School will be accessible to French speakers.
